Research Topic: How glutamate and glutamine regulate plant growth and defense

Research Description:

Our laboratory uses molecular genetics approaches to study how plants sense and

respond to amino acids (glutamate and glutamine). We have found that, in addition to

being essential nutrients for plant growth, glutamate and glutamine can also enhance

plant defense responses. We welcome individuals who are interested in plant biology

and plan to pursue advanced degrees to join our team in exploring the novel functions

of amino acids in plants.

1. Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a life science-related field

2. Experience in molecular biology techniques and molecular genetics research is

a plus

Salary: According to Academia Sinica’s 2026 salary standards:  Master’s-level Research Assistant (1st year): NT$44,968 ~ 45,624 per month  Bachelor’s-level Research Assistant (1st year): NT$38,388 ~ 38,948 per month
