[Ming-Hsiun Hsieh] Glutamine-induced root hair elongation depends on ethylene signaling and the RHD6 regulatory pathway.

Liao et al., 2026 Plant Cell & Environment

Gln induces root hair elongation in Arabidopsis.

Glutamine promotes root hair elongation in Arabidopsis by integrating RHD6-dependent developmental regulation, ethylene-mediated defense hormone signaling, and cell wall integrity through proper pectin methyl-esterification. Mr. Hong-Sheng Liao, a former master’s student co-supervised by Professor Chien-Chih Yang at National Taiwan University and Professor Ming-Hsiun Hsieh at the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology (IPMB), Academia Sinica, primarily conducted this study. The findings were published in Plant, Cell & Environment.
