[Yuki Nakamura] Review: Plant phosphatidylcholine (PC) biosynthesis

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is the most predominant class of membrane phospholipid in most eukaryotes including seed plants. The biochemistry of PC biosynthesis has been investigated since the 1950s; however, a number of enzymes responsible for the PC biosynthesis pathway have only recently been cloned and functionally characterized in Arabidopsis. For his team’s major contribution to the elucidation of plant PC biosynthesis pathway, Dr. Nakamura contributed an invited review article on plant PC biosynthesis. This will be a useful textbook or reference in investigating plant PC metabolism and function.
