2025 Shang-Fa Yang Memorial Lecture
POST:2025-09-18 13:58:14The Shang-Fa Yang Memorial Lecture is held annually to honor Professor Shang-Fa Yang, a world-renowned scientist and a native of Taiwan. Professor Yang had made enormous contributions in elucidating the biogenesis of plant hormone ethylene and also in the development and application of agricultural biotechnology. The Foundation aims to promote interactions and collaborations among scientists in plant and agricultural biotechnology both domestically and internationally. The Shang-Fa Yang Memorial Foundation sponsors a Lectureship by selecting a world-class scholar with influential impacts in agricultural science to deliver a public speech every year. The Foundation also recognizes promising young scientists in memorizing Professor Yang’s spirits in educating and nurturing young scientists.
The awardee of the 17th SFY Lecture is Prof. Dr. Carol Robin Buell, Director, The Plant Center, University of Georgia & Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar Chair in Crop Genomics, Professor-Crop & Soil Sciences Dept., University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, United States. The recipients of the 17th SFY Outstanding Young Scientists Award are Dr. Mei-Chun Nina Cheng, Associate Professor, Department of Biochemical Science & Technology, National Taiwan University and Dr. Hao-Xun Chang, Associate Professor, Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology, National Taiwan University.
