Congratulations to Dr. Chih-Hang Wu on his selection as an EMBO Global Investigator.
POST:2024-12-16 11:04:32Dr. Chih-Hang Wu’s lab focuses on understanding how plants use their innate immune systems to defend against invading pathogens. Many plant pathogens can cause diseases in economically important crops, posing significant challenges to global food security. The team is investigating the evolutionary history and molecular mechanisms of plant intracellular immune receptors. By extending this fundamental knowledge to translational research, they aim to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to combat diseases affecting agricultural crops worldwide.
Dr. Wu expressed profound gratitude and enthusiasm upon being selected as an EMBO Global Investigator, stating, “I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious recognition. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to my lab members, whose dedication and hard work over the past few years have been instrumental in advancing our research. I am equally grateful to my colleagues at the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology and Academia Sinica, who have fostered a nurturing and collaborative environment that has allowed me to explore and pursue innovative research ideas. I also want to thank my international and domestic collaborators, whose complementary expertise has been invaluable to what we have been able to achieve.”
He highlighted the significance of this recognition, emphasizing the new opportunities it presents. “Joining the EMBO Global Investigator Network represents an exciting opportunity not only to showcase the cutting-edge research being conducted in Taiwan but also to foster new connections with research groups across Europe and beyond. I look forward to engaging with the broader scientific community, exchanging ideas, and building new collaborations that will further enrich our work,” he added.
