A Warm Welcome to Visiting Scholar Dr. Mathilde Grelon

We are pleased to announce that visiting scholar Dr. Mathilde Grelon joined Institute of Plant & Microbial Biology since June and will stay until December. Her office is located in the room R120. Dr. Grelon is a research associate at the French Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) of Versaillles. She has been working on plant meiosis for more than 20 years since she initiated a program to identify and characterise meiotic functions in Arabidopsis. This work participated to set up Arabidopsis thaliana as a model in the field of meiotic recombination. Until now, the “Meiosis and Recombination” research group of the INRA of Versailles becomes one of the largest groups working on the mechanisms of meiotic recombination in plants.

Her visit will allow transferring knowledge from Arabidopsis to maize, and facilitating our collaboration on DSB machinery under the ANR-MOST bilateral research program 2018. During this six-month visit, her expertise in meiotic researches will benefit the local research community working on recombination and chromosome biology.
