  Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) and Research Assistant (RA) positions available
  A postdoctoral fellow and multiple research assistant positions are available immediately at the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology, Academia Sinica (Wang Lab, Rm412). The main research interest of laboratory aims to understand the functional roles of phytohormones in plant growth and development. The reference plant, Arabidopsis thaliana, is used as the primary experimental organism.
  
  The successful candidates will participate in one of the funded research projects; (1) to identify and characterize functional components of the SCF (Skp-Cul-F box) complexes in hormone signaling pathways; (2) to probe the mechanistic role of plant hormone ethylene in responding to environmental stress signals, and (3) to establish an inducible system to modulate ethylene response for post-harvest improvement of economically important crops.
  
  Applicants must have a strong background in one of the following fields, molecular biology, genetics, cell biology and biochemistry. Experience in plant biology is preferred but not required. Candidates with a strong motivation to develop a research career are encouraged to apply. Applicants for PDF should have a recently completed doctoral degree (within 3 years) in biology, biochemistry or a related field. Applicants for RA should have prior experience in basic molecular biology (DNA and RNA isolation, PCR) and/or biochemical techniques.
